02 Nov November 2018 Wine Club
How do you put together a spectacular case before Christmas?… Lucky for us we have a vast array of interesting and quirky wines available. Take, for example, the Guelbenzu Vierlas. It’s one of the most complex wines in this case. It’s a lovely blend of Syrah and Merlot from grapes that are over 10 years old. The vineyard itself was established in the 19th century so the expertise and experience clearly shows. Other wines to watch out for are the Clos Bagatelle Rouge and the Sherwood Estate Sauvignon Blanc. Class wines from stand out vintages and producers.
The case contains each of the following specially selected wines:
Adobe Chardonnay (Organic) – Chile
Unoaked, sunkissed Chardonnay made from organically grown grapes.
Santa Rosa Viognier – Argentina
The Santa Rosa wines are shining examples of what Argentina is famous for: well crafted wines that are pure expressions of the varietals. These wines can compete on the world stage and show their place of origin with pride.
Sherwood Estate Stoney Range Sauvignon Blanc – New Zealand
Pioneers of the Waipara Valley the Sherwood family have been working this land for over 30 years.
Crocera Barbera D’Asti Superiore – Italy
Classic barrique-aged Barbera from 6 hectares of vines on the Il Cascinone estate.
Guelbenzu ‘Vierlas’ – Spain
The village of Vierlas lies between Rioja, Navarra and Aragon and in this instance provides a great environment for Syrah vines.
Clos Bagatelle Rouge, Saint Chinian – France
Equal measures of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and a dash of Mourvèdre. All grapes are handpicked and vinified separately – ageing taking place in large oak casks, the result is a blend of youthful exuberance and generous texture.
