06 Jul July 2018 Wine Club
Did you know that Carmenere was thought to be Merlot? Or that the famous GSM blend is popular in Cotes du Rhone? Or that Cabernet Sauvignon was the offspring of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc?
Once again we have put together this eclectic case for our wine club customers to showcase the very best the world has to offer. Without spending the millions!
The case contains each of the following specially selected wines:
Fauno GSM – Spain
Appealing, award-winning, juicy Grenache Shiraz Monastrell blend from Valencia
Dandelion Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon – Australia
Award winning Dandelion Vineyards is the venture of self-titled ‘typist’ Zar Brooks, his winemaking wife
Nostros Reserva Carmenere – Chile
The Nostros Reserva range prove that Chile can offer the very best value and does produce wines with great varietal and regional definition.
Campo Fiorito Chardonnay – Italy
A restrained, textural Chardonnay from the Campo Fiorito vineyard, a 5 hectare north-east facing plot on the stunning Il Cascinone estate. Harmonious gently honeyed style is reminiscent of good Mâcon.
Domaine de Vedilhan Serica Viognier – France
Elaborately textured, full-flavoured Viognier. The wine is aptly named after the Latin name for silk, ‘Serica’. In the 14th century, silk production or sericulture was as widespread in this region as viticulture.
Iona Sophie Te’Blanche Sauvignon Blanc – South Africa
Sophie Te’Blanche, a nickname given by those including our workers, who can’t pronounce Sauvignon Blanc, is the inspiration behind this much loved wine, produced from grapes grown by dedicated farmers in Elgin and the Cape South Coast.
