06 Apr April 2018 Wine Club
Here at Premier Cru we do try to mix things up a bit. This selection of wines for our April 2018 wine club incorporates producers and regions from all over the world. Some have established a strong reputation while others are what we believe to be the stars of tomorrow.
The April 2018 wine club contains each of the following specially selected wines:
K-Naia – Spain
The mouth filling texture of Verdejo is offset with 10% Sauvignon to provide some racy, zesty intensity.
Bottega Trentino Pinot Grigio – Italy
Exceptional, characterful and grown-up Pinot Grigio from the foothills of the Dolomites. 2017 Vintage – IWSC Silver Award and Sommelier Wine Award
Domaine Mas Bahourat ‘La Petite Parcelle’ de Viognier, Vieilles Vignes – France
Apricots and almonds – classic Viognier.
Showdown ‘Man with the Ax’ Cabernet Sauvignon – USA
Born out of the fact that wherever you go in America, Cabernet is ‘King’. The label reflects American card game and casino culture. The ‘Man with the Ax’ is the Poker nickname for the King of Diamonds. 2015 Vintage – Catavinum Silver Award 2018
Manon Tempranillo – Spain
A hugely appealing red from the Mano a Mano winery near Alhambra – truly capturing the character of the region, and over-delivering with every sip! 2014 Vintage – Sommelier Wine Award Silver
Mantlepiece Cinsault – South Africa
The label pays homage to the unique, ever-shifting soils and slopes of South Africa’s Cape Mountains, formed over aeons of geological time. It illustrates the dry-grown, bush-vines of the Cinsault cultivar farmed here, where their roots dig deep into the Earth’s layers foraging for sustenance in these harsh conditions.
